AI Transformation Canvas: An Executive Working Session

Much public sector AI activity is already underway, but it is often fragmented across teams and functions. Individual experiments and pilots are running. New tools are being introduced, though access, adoption, and governance remain uneven across organizations. At the same time, leadership teams are under pressure to modernize services, build workforce capability, manage risk, and connect strategic direction with operational reality. Turning that activity into coordinated organizational change is challenging and often difficult to sustain.

This session focuses on the human and organizational side of AI adoption. Rather than approaching AI primarily as a technology challenge, we will explore it as a challenge of leadership, decision-making, team coordination, workforce capability, and organizational adaptation and learning.

Participants work in small groups using the AI Transformation Canvas, a practical framework for assessing how organizations are adapting to AI across strategy, governance, collaboration, experimentation, capability development, and outcomes.

Participants leave the session with a clearer picture of where their organization stands, where adaptation is lagging behind activity, and a small set of prioritized next steps they can take back into their work.

Ahead of the session, attendees receive access to a short diagnostic survey that surfaces organizational patterns, introduces the framework, and prepares the group for the working session.

The session is designed for public sector and other high-accountability environments where governance, workforce transition, service delivery pressures, and public trust are all evolving alongside the technology.
