Walid Sharif – who recently moved back to Toronto – works with Canada School of Public Service as the Issues Manager for the Director General of Digital Academy. His previous role was the Senior Advisor and acting Chief of Staff to the Vice President. He has worked for Employment and Social Development Canada in policy development, communications and service delivery, including leading department’s presence at the 2017 Interdepartmental Innovation Fair. A graduate of York University with work experience at various levels of government including the City of Toronto, Province of Ontario and 15 years in the federal government (Toronto, Ottawa). Walid led the @LeadersGC for over two years overseeing the restructuring and expansion of the team. The team consisted of skilled and highly-motivated public servants at all levels and across the country connecting public servants with senior executives through monthly virtual chats and in-person events. @LeadersGC was highlighted in the 25th Annual Clerk’s Report to the Prime Minister.
